Hanamaki Hot Springs ( Hanamaki City ) 

The hot springs located to the west of Hanamaki City are together called the Hanamaki Hot Springs. There are many types of facilities such as large hotels and traditional inns. Daytime bathing admission ranges from 200 yen to 1,200 yen.




Hanamaki Hot Spring

Hanamaki Hot Spring is a well-known hot spring resort with 1 inn and 3 large hotels; the hotels are connected, and overnight guests can go to the bathing areas of the other hotels as well. There is a rose garden in front of the hotels  ( admission ischarged ) ; the surrounding area is a prefectural park, and is an excellent place for a walk.
Simple alkaline spring: effective for neuralgia, joint pain, hemorrhoid, digestive disorders, poor circulation, etc.

Dai Hot Spring
Dai Hot Spring has a history of 1,200 years, and there are 18 facilities, both traditional and modern. At some inns, there are kitchens where you can cook your own food. In addition to inns, there are daytime-only bathing facilities as well.
Sodium sulfate, sulfur, and sodium chloride springs: effective for sore muscles, poor circulation, joint pain, digestive disorders, general recuperation, etc.

Shin-Yumoto Hot Spring

This hot spring is said to be great for the skin, and is very popular with women. There are many fun facilities such as one of the largest outdoor baths in Tohoku, a foot bath, a tennis court, and a hot spring pool.
Simple alkaline spring: effective for rheumatism, cuts, neuralgia, joint pain, various skin conditions, hemorrhoid, etc.

Kanaya Hot Spring
This is a hot spring in Hanamaki Wide-Area Park, which also has a golf course and a tennis court.
Sulfur spring: effective for hypertension, rheumatism, diabetes, etc.

 ( Hanamaki South Hot Springs ) 

Matsukura Hot Spring
Located closest to the city center among the hot springs along the Toyosawa River, Matsukura Hot Spring has many sports facilities such as a tennis court and a Japanese croquet field.
Simple alkaline spring: effective for various skin conditions, neuralgia, digestive disorders, etc.

Watari Hot Spring
There is a large outdoor bath with a view of a beautiful Japanese garden. There is one inn with two wings; one of the wings were reopened in 2009 with a new, sophisticated look. One of the baths for overnight guests is covered with jade.
Simple alkaline spring: effective for neuralgia, joint pain, poor circulation, etc.

Yama-no-Kami Hot Spring
This is an inn with 4 different types of water. You can enjoy an outdoor bath as well as a large bath with a skylight.

Osawa Hot Spring
Osawa Hot Spring has three buildings: a modern inn, a thatched-roof inn, and a building with a kitchen where guests can cook for themselves.. There is a great outdoor bath facing a river. The Konsei Festival on April 29 is a unique Shinto ritual in which women wash a phallic figure in the hot spring.

Shidotaira Hot Spring
There is a large hotel with a pool, 12 baths, and a pet bath. You can enjoy a buffet-style dinner with over 80 types of dishes or a Japanese full course. There is another inn connected to the hotel, in which all of the rooms have a private outdoor bath.
Simple spring: hypertension, rheumatism, cuts, etc.

Namari Hot Spring
This is a 600-year-old hot spring along the Toyosawa River. There are 5 different spring sources, and the most popular is the Shirozaru-no-Yu, a deep bath in which you stand rather than sit. There is also a ski resort nearby. The inn is one of Japan's Hot Spring Heritages and other similar lists.
Simple alkaline spring: effective for rheumatism, sore muscles, joint pain, various skin conditions, diabetes, obesity, etc.

Shin-Namari Hot Spring
This is a large, modern inn with 17 baths. You can drink the hot spring water, which is good for diabetes, obesity, etc.
Gypsum and mirabilite springs: effective for neuralgia, rheumatism, cuts, digestive disorders.

Takakurayam Hot Spring
The water has a high radium content which keeps your body warm even after the bath. The inn does not provide meals but has a kitchen where guests can cook for themselves.
Simple spring: effective for rheumatism, digestive disorders, various skin conditions, etc.

Towa Hot Spring
This is a daytime-only facility with many baths such as a sauna, jacuzzi, medicinal bath, and outdoor bath.
Simple spring: effective for neuralgia, sore muscles, joint pain, etc.

Himawari Hot Spring
This daytime-only hot spring facility was originally built by a hospital famous for allergy therapy; the amber-colored water is excellent for the skin.
Simple alkaline spring: effective for various skin conditions, neuralgia, etc.
